With the turmoil of the economic landscape, we see an increase in financial crimes and frauds. Although many companies have in-house accountants who keep their eyes out for irregularities in business records, there are cases of new fraudulent and illegal activities. Many of these can only be uncovered by an in-depth analysis of the company's records and books. Forensic accountants are those charged with the task of cross-checking various financial records of the business to find anomalies that could uncover fraudulent or illegal activities. This introductory course reviews the characteristics and skills needed to be a forensic accountant. This overview course may be appropriate for professionals at all organizational levels.
