Crowdfunding is a way of raising money for a project or venture by soliciting small amounts of money from a large number of people, typically via the Internet. The Internal Revenue Service taxes crowdfunding income in the same way as any other type of income. With some exceptions, taxpayers will be required to report and pay taxes on crowdfunding income. This short course will give an overview of what crowdfunding revenues are includible in income for tax purposes.

This overview course may be appropriate for professionals at all organizational levels.
