In the world of current good manufacturing practices, or cGMP, technology is at the center of product safety and quality. This is especially true for the pharmaceutical industry in the United States, which produces more medicine than any other country in the world. Technological advancements have helped the United States be at the top of this market. In 2014, the FDA launched the Emerging Technology Program, or ETP. This program aims to ensure that the adoption of new technologies aligns with and enhances the principles of cGMP so that patients receive safe, effective, and high-quality drugs.
