Welcome to the “Taking Family Leave” course. This course comprises eleven lessons and is designed to help employees effectively plan and return from a family leave so the transition in and out of the workplace is as smooth as possible. It includes topics such as what legal protections and rights you should know regarding family leave, how to tell your manager and team you’re taking family leave, why self-care is so important and how to practice self-care as efficiently as possible, how to account for your workload before you leave, how to work a plan with your team, how to address the shift in engagement you may feel upon returning to work, how to appropriately face the shift in life’s demands so you can be your best self, how to ask for support among your friends and coworkers, how to stay in the game post-leave, and how to set effective boundaries. Ultimately, after completing this course, viewers should be in a better place in taking family leave confident they will transition in and out of their workplace as easily as possible.
